Edinburgh Extravaganza
May 2024
Congratulations to everyone that competed at Edinburgh Extravaganza on Saturday 18th May at Ainsley Park Leisure Centre, Edinburgh. It was an amazing day, everyone had fun, showed fantastic gymnastics skills and had great attitudes. We are very proud of you all.

British Gymnastics TEAMGym Northern Qualifier
March 2024
Wow! what a weekend we had at Qualifier 1 this past weekend.
Our Primary Mix and Girls Teams kicked off the competition in the Primary Challenge Category. Both teams displayed amazing gymnastics with the Primary Mix team gaining a personal best score on Tumble and the Primary Girls clutching the Bronze medal in a very close competition!
Next up was our Youth Women with Irvine Bay Gymnastics Club. This was Saltires first outing in this category since 2019! The team had great competition and rallied together to win the Bronze medal and achieve a personal best execution score on Tumble!
Our Senior Women Micro team were up next. The girls demonstrated resilience during the competition and brought home the Gold Medal in their category!
Day Two saw our Junior Mix Team bring home the Silver Medal!Who achieved a personal best execution score on tumble helping them secure the silver medal.
In the final round of full teams saw Josh and the Scarborough Gymnastics Senior Men battle it out in a close competition. Josh and his team displayed some amazing gymnastics and were awarded with execution bonus on floor for their Barbie inspired floor routine and which saw them bring home the Silver Medal!
Now we wait to find out if our teams have done enough to qualify for the British Championships in July!
Scottish Gymnastics TeamGym Open Recap
February 2024
On Saturday 17th February, 7 Saltire teams competed at the Scottish Open in Motherwell.
Saltire came home with a total of 7 medals! A massive congratulations to all the gymnasts and coaches involved. An amazing achievement and everyone at Saltire is very proud of you all!

Newcastle Open

We kicked off our 2024 competition year at the Newcastle Open! We saw an amazing display of gymnastics with Saltire bringing home a total of 9 medals!
A massive well done to all the gymnast and coaches who attended ! We look to seeing what the rest of 2024 has in store
saltire Equipment Update - People's postcode trust

Here at Saltire, we continually reinvest into the club to ensure our gymnasts have the best opportunities and equipment for training and competitions. Over the last few months, with the help of the People's Post Code Trust, we have been able to upgrade some of our competition equipment in addition to adding in some new smaller equipment to help with progressions and conditioning.

Our thanks go to the Peoples Postcode Trust who invested almost £25,000 for this project and to the parents, committee and other helpers who supported with moving the track.

saltire mega event - Teamgym competition
2nd october 2022​
We had a really busy weekend at the Saltire Mega Event Teamgym Competition. As well as the 10 Saltire teams we had competing, we were pleased to welcome 15 other teams from Abbey (NI), Alloa, Dundonald, Fyrish, Inverness, Largs, Midlothian, and City of Newcastle. A huge thank you to the clubs for their effort to compete in our competition.

Our thanks also go to the judges who were judging at their first competition using the new Teamgym Code of Points - you did an awesome job!!!
​
Thanks to our amazing parent volunteers, and the Committee and Board members who were busy with the fundraising stalls and kept the day running smoothly.

Saltire hosted our most successful event yet hosting Floor and Vault and Teamgym competitions over of 5th/6th October. A huge thank you to everyone who joined us, and well done to all our participants.

Congratulations to Senior Gymnast Dylan Campbell on his recent selection for the GB National Teamgym Squad. Dylan was invited to train alongside the Men's squad at their last raining session in Crewe and has now been selected as a member of the squad. Good luck with the squad Dylan!

Our annual Club Championships brought together gymnasts from all section the club. It was great to see gymnasts from our P1 beginners classes right through to our competitive gymnasts and adults class all competing in the same room at the same time. A great showcase of what the club has to offer.
​
Well done to all of the gymnasts who took part. Your practice over the last few months has really paid off!

phd fundamentals friendly competition

Some of the gymnasts from our classes in Eyemouth took part in the PHD Fundamentals Competition and did really well. Congratulations to all of the gymnasts involved and thank you to the coaches for taking them.
A huge congratulations to the 5 teams from Saltire who competed at this years Northern Qualifier Event. All of the teams did amazingly well.

The Youth Girls team did exceptionally well gaining the qualifying score for the British Championships that will take place in Liverpool at the end of July. Well done girls.
​
A huge well done to all of the Micro teams too. The Junior and Seniors teams have all qualified for the British Championships. Unfortunately after a great performance the youth micro team narrowly missed out on qualification.
